The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 12th minute Miguel Prosperi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Prior saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elpidio Francis hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Christoffer Blomqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 19thth minute of the game Esteban Iztal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MILLONARIOS FC's Angelo Prior was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 21stth minute of the game Christoffer Blomqvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Miguel Prosperi took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Angelo Prior. Angelo Prior dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inocencio Cristos in the 27th minute of play forced MILLONARIOS FC's goalkeeper Angelo Prior to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. MILLONARIOS FC's Angelo Prior played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Prosperi in the 30th minute of play. After 34 minutes, Christoffer Blomqvist made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 43 played minutes MILLONARIOS FC got a freekick which was hit by Heitor Leys. Christoffer Blomqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christoffer Blomqvist was the one to do the kick off. 58 minutes into the match, MILLONARIOS FC's Christoffer Blomqvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Branislav Velchevski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Timoteo Basualdo kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Angelo Prior made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Prosperi in the 62nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christoffer Blomqvist in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Branislav Velchevski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús was substituted for Venancio Estavan. MILLONARIOS FC's Jozef Kloots was substituted for Rafael Jauregui. Inocencio Cristos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Angelo Prior firmly grabbed it by the left post. Melchazadec Rosal kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Elpidio Francis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Angelo Prior. MILLONARIOS FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elpidio Francis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Branislav Velchevski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jozef Kloots, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Angelo Prior showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Monclús in the 91st minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
