In the 40th minute Wally Lawson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romulo Otsoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgard de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ovidio Claude in the 42nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ovidio Claude in the 43rd minute of play forced Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Edgard de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

A collision led to Cañani OFF getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Cañani OFF's Romulo Otsoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wally Lawson in the 65th minute of play. Cañani OFF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 91st match minute, Cañani OFF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristobal Prejun to maneuver through the defense. 92 minutes into the match, Paulão Medeiros notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Cañani OFF's Romulo Otsoa. Romulo Otsoa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Montesclarense E.C. fully deserved thier win.
