Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Talleres fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Talleres's Adrian Enegren looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Adrian Enegren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd match minute, Kuwait was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esmael Al Qattamy to maneuver through the defense. Hamzah Taqi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Enegren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 41 minutes into the match, Kuwait's goal looked a bit too open when Adrian Enegren came free, but Hamzah Taqi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Venancio Guillen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Habib Al Youha made the kick off in the second half. Hamzah Taqi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adrian Enegren in the 51st minute of play. After 55 played minutes Kuwait got a freekick which was hit by Meshari Dehrab. Cecilio Lastur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Habib Al Youha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Khalefa Bo Qamaz charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Khalefa Bo Qamaz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Kuwait's Khalefa Bo Qamaz got a free kick in the 62nd minute. With a little luck, Kuwait's Hamzah Taqi got control of the ball when Adrian Enegren tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Adrian Enegren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kuwait's Hamzah Taqi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Kuwait from getting a goal against them. Peker Durusoy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 76 minutes into the match, Kuwait's goalkeeper Hamzah Taqi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adrian Enegren. Khalefa Bo Qamaz got his second yellow card in the match during the 81st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 83rd minute, Talleres's Adrian Enegren dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. If Josef Tunberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Talleres booed when Kuwait was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esmael Al Qattamy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kuwait's Hamzah Taqi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruperto Asur in the 94th minute of play. After 96 minutes, Placido Gaspard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Talleres and the Kuwait players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Talleres's Placido Gaspard got a free kick in the 96th minute. The Talleres supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Talleres would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
