The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Ladislao Gines shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Farid Mondragón saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Farid Mondragón stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ladislao Gines's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Gines in the 13th minute of play. When Creekers's Ladislao Gines in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C. A. Independiente's goalie prevented a goal. 19 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Gines came free, but Farid Mondragón reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ladislao Gines's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Farid Mondragón read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Ladislao Gines left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Creekers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After having played for 26 minutes, Ladislao Gines managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Creekers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ladislao Gines was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Farid Mondragón took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ladislao Gines, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Creekers's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Saverio Vistruario in the 34th minute. The corner led Creekers's Saverio Vistruario to fire away a dangerous shot which Farid Mondragón despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Creekers's Ladislao Gines got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Garth Gould got free with Bryant Miles in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ladislao Gines to strike the kick off in the second half. Qiu Fan Ran kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. In the 58th match minute, C. A. Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Qiu Fan Ran to maneuver through the defense. Creekers's attentive Leevi Kampman managed to snatch the ball when Qiu Fan Ran made a throw-in in the 64th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Riley Trotter in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Farid Mondragón saved C. A. Independiente from getting behind. Tomas Gustafson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to C. A. Independiente getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Qiu Fan Ran hit a great ball. The supporters of Creekers booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garth Gould didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Riley Trotter in the 88th minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Farid Mondragón to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute, Riley Trotter made a precise shot to the right of Farid Mondragón. C. A. Independiente's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Riley Trotter in the 92nd minute of play.
