Leó Török showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Lennon in the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute of the match Malta got a corner. The Red Devils's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tyron Sapiano ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, Malta's John Lennon got a free kick in the 23rd minute. David Schiavone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Leó Török tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in The Red Devils's zone, David Schiavone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leó Török came out of the goal and David Schiavone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Schiavone in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leó Török saved The Red Devils from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mustafa Orhan İlkcan during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 36 played minutes The Red Devils got a freekick which was hit by Mustafa Orhan İlkcan. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, David Schiavone managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malta's supporters rose to their feet, but David Schiavone was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leó Török breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leó Török took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Schiavone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Red Devils's Leó Török proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save The Red Devils from getting a goal against them. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marek Orling made a kick off. Mustafa Orhan İlkcan made in the 51st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Malta's Dejan Hamilton. Mustafa Orhan İlkcan made in the 56th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Szabolcs Dávid however managed to control. Malta's David Schiavone got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Malta's David Schiavone sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leó Török narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, Malta's goal looked a bit too open when János Pálfi came free, but Leonardo Da Vinci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Basílio Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Tyron Sapiano, 64 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If David Schiavone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mustafa Orhan İlkcan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Leonardo Da Vinci firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 78 minutes, David Schiavone made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. When the referee ended the match the Malta players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
