A collision led to U21 Philippines getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Frascuelo Balimbin hit a great ball. Sorapong Raisungnurn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Heherson Lawsin in the 15th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Komsorn Boonkasemsin during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 17th minute, Komsorn Boonkasemsin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sorapong Raisungnurn acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 18th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gregoria Calip. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pasachai Jitjai in the 21st minute of play forced U21 Philippines's goalkeeper Irvin Macandog to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of U21 Thailand booed when U21 Philippines was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geronimo Subili didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26thth minute of the game Norman Allado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Thailand's Sorapong Raisungnurn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The U21 Philippines fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when U21 Philippines's Norman Allado looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Norman Allado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 30 minutes into the match, U21 Thailand's goal looked a bit too open when Moses Vinoray came free, but Sorapong Raisungnurn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gregoria Calip's late challenge caught a U21 Thailand's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gregoria Calip helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 32 minutes, Sirinate Sareeprom managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Thailand's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sirinate Sareeprom was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Irvin Macandog showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pasachai Jitjai, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 37 minutes into the game, U21 Thailand's Sirinate Sareeprom nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Irvin Macandog made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. 45 minutes into the match, U21 Thailand's goal looked a bit too open when Moses Vinoray came free, but Sorapong Raisungnurn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The U21 Philippines players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 Thailand were winning 2-3.

Pinong Bunsoy charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pinong Bunsoy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pinong Bunsoy hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. U21 Thailand's Sorapong Raisungnurn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geronimo Subili in the 67th minute of play. 69 minutes into the game, Pasachai Jitjai recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Irvin Macandog. Pasachai Jitjai showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-4. U21 Philippines's Geronimo Subili got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sorapong Raisungnurn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norman Allado, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. A collision led to U21 Thailand getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Sitthachat Yangyuen hit a great ball. The supporters of U21 Philippines booed when U21 Thailand was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pasachai Jitjai didn't get a good kick on the ball. U21 Philippines's Irvin Macandog played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pasachai Jitjai in the 79th minute of play. After a rather tough play, U21 Philippines's Dawang Monfort got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute of the match Sirinate Sareeprom shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Irvin Macandog showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 88th minute, U21 Thailand's Sirinate Sareeprom ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Irvin Macandog. Irvin Macandog yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-5. Piyorot Boonlikit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Irvin Macandog having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. U21 Thailand walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
