U21 Philippines's Irvin Macandog played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 박 갈 in the 25th minute of play. With a little luck, U21 South Korea's Amanda van der Sar got control of the ball when Geronimo Subili tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th minute, 박 갈 made a precise shot to the right of Irvin Macandog. U21 Philippines's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. Irvin Macandog came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by U21 South Korea's 이 난. But to his dismay, 이 난 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. In the 34th minute Geronimo Subili shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amanda van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Amanda van der Sar managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when U21 Philippines's Norman Allado fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 36 minutes into the match, Son van Basten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Irvin Macandog. U21 Philippines's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Son van Basten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. In the 61stth minute of the game 김 명 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Philippines's Irvin Macandog was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 김 명 in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Irvin Macandog saved U21 Philippines from getting behind. Irvin Macandog showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 김 명 in the 63rd minute of the match.
