Paulino Lain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Vaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 6 minutes, Fausto Aimar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Les Tigres and the Vanadio F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th match minute, Les Tigres was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Aimar to maneuver through the defense. David Campomanes kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Vanadio F.C.'s Frutos Cubas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Siro Urbez in the 13th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Santos Satordi during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Benito Su managed to get in a good position for a shot. Les Tigres's supporters rose to their feet, but Benito Su was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frutos Cubas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 22 minutes into the match, Benito Su dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Frutos Cubas, 1-0. Vanadio F.C.'s Frutos Cubas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Vanadio F.C. from getting a goal against them. When Isaac Landeribar fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vanadio F.C.'s protests and gave Isaac Landeribar a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Vanadio F.C.'s Isaac Landeribar got a free kick in the 45th minute. Les Tigres's Moises Cugat was substituted for Jonathan Veronica. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emmanuel Cimbron to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Vanadio F.C.'s zone, Albano Esiquio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frutos Cubas came out of the goal and Albano Esiquio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Fausto Aimar was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 72 minutes had been played. Albano Esiquio kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Santos Satordi hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Frutos Cubas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albano Esiquio in the 83rd minute of play. Eugenio Crujeiras hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Flor Rial during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Vanadio F.C.'s Flor Rial got a free kick in the 86th minute. Les Tigres's attentive Jonatan Bilintx managed to snatch the ball when Flor Rial made a throw-in in the 89th minute of the game. Albano Esiquio struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Frutos Cubas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Les Tigres. Hats Selgas got a throw-in 93 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Eugenio Crujeiras. After 95 minutes of play, Vanadio F.C.'s Gipuzkoa Gante made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulino Lain was left in no man's land by his defense there! Paulino Lain made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Gipuzkoa Gante sent off a good shot on target. For all the effort they put into the match, the Vanadio F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Les Tigres.
