Ervin Shafer kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Dudley Trujillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 24 minutes of play, Fair Oaks's Lonnie Mendoza made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricky Rosa was left in no man's land by his defense there! 31 minutes into the match, Lonnie Mendoza notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Capitol Hill Avalanche's Ricky Rosa. Ricky Rosa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Norbert Andersen fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fair Oaks's protests and gave Norbert Andersen a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Fair Oaks getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Norbert Andersen hit a great ball. Richard Yoder recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Norbert Andersen hit a great ball. Fair Oaks's Lewis Healy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Yoder in the 40th minute of play. If Richard Yoder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricky Rosa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dudley Trujillo went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dudley Trujillo made a kick off. With a little luck, Capitol Hill Avalanche's Ricky Rosa got control of the ball when Dudley Trujillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricky Rosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lonnie Mendoza, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Dudley Trujillo hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. The supporters of Fair Oaks booed when Capitol Hill Avalanche was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Lindsey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dudley Trujillo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-5 in the 68th playminute. Dudley Trujillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricky Rosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dudley Trujillo ran back to his position shaking his head. When Dudley Trujillo came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Fair Oaks fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dudley Trujillo couldn't finish the play. Dudley Trujillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dudley Trujillo succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-6 in the 84th playminute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lonnie Mendoza during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 90 minutes into the game, Lonnie Mendoza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-7. Ricky Rosa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fair Oaks's Dudley Trujillo got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fair Oaks's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
