After some careless play in the Capitol Hill Avalanche defense, Ace Acevedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricky Rosa. The Capitol Hill Avalanche fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricky Rosa should have stopped the shot. Ricky Rosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lance Bautista, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Capitol Hill Avalanche's Ricky Rosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ace Acevedo in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the game, ALIANZA FC's Lance Bautista nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricky Rosa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Ricky Rosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giuseppe Moon, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 20 minutes of play, ALIANZA FC's Lance Bautista made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricky Rosa was left in no man's land by his defense there! 23 minutes into the match, Ace Acevedo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricky Rosa. Capitol Hill Avalanche's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ace Acevedo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capitol Hill Avalanche's goalkeeper Ricky Rosa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 33rd minute, Ace Acevedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricky Rosa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Ricky Rosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giuseppe Moon in the 38th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Giuseppe Moon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricky Rosa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Richard Yoder to make the kick off. Ervin Shafer hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Juan McGowan managed to get in a good position for a shot. ALIANZA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan McGowan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricky Rosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 66 played minutes Capitol Hill Avalanche got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Lindsey. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giuseppe Moon got free with Ricky Rosa in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as ALIANZA FC's Ace Acevedo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ricky Rosa. That made the score 0-9 after 68 minutes of play. In the 74th minute, Richard Yoder left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Capitol Hill Avalanche fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-9. Richard Yoder struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Benjamin Reilly didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capitol Hill Avalanche. In the 84th minute Juan McGowan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricky Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Capitol Hill Avalanche's Trent Simms got a free kick in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Norman Kern had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ricky Rosa. Capitol Hill Avalanche's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Norman Kern was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-10. Giuseppe Moon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Ricky Rosa made a huge save. Ace Acevedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. ALIANZA FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
