Régis Ceresso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luís Furlan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 7 minutes into the match, Guga Vieira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Régis Ceresso. S.E Galo Vermelho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guga Vieira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of S.E Galo Vermelho:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Macuripary EC:s goal. The referee gave Macuripary EC a penalty, 15 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Régis Santana, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of S.E Galo Vermelho's Régis Ceresso. 0-2. The supporters of S.E Galo Vermelho booed when Macuripary EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Régis Santana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Régis Ceresso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Luís Furlan in the 25th minute of the match. Régis Ceresso came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Macuripary EC's Sílvio Luís Furlan. But to his dismay, Sílvio Luís Furlan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Osmar Valadares took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Giovanni Carvalho. Macuripary EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Sílvio Luís Furlan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Macuripary EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sílvio Luís Furlan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Régis Ceresso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Régis Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guga Vieira, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 37th match minute, S.E Galo Vermelho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osmar Valadares to maneuver through the defense. Guga Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Sílvio Luís Furlan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Guga Vieira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Régis Ceresso was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guga Vieira in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Régis Ceresso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benedito Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Guga Vieira to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Benedito França hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Macuripary EC's Sílvio Luís Furlan got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, S.E Galo Vermelho's Eusébio Tinoco got a free kick in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Macuripary EC's goal looked a bit too open when Cido Paraibano came free, but Giovanni Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giovanni Carvalho came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by S.E Galo Vermelho's Cido Paraibano. But to his dismay, Cido Paraibano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Cido Paraibano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Giovanni Carvalho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. With a little luck, S.E Galo Vermelho's Régis Ceresso got control of the ball when Sílvio Luís Furlan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luizinho Cardozo charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luizinho Cardozo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Guga Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute, César Donato hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Régis Ceresso came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Macuripary EC's Sílvio Luís Furlan. But to his dismay, Sílvio Luís Furlan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guga Vieira in the 73rd minute of play forced S.E Galo Vermelho's goalkeeper Régis Ceresso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 73 played minutes S.E Galo Vermelho got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Sá. Macuripary EC's Guga Vieira got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th match minute, S.E Galo Vermelho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilmar Sá to maneuver through the defense. Sílvio Luís Furlan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cido Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd match minute, S.E Galo Vermelho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eusébio Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. Allan Porto kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Guga Vieira fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guga Vieira in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Régis Ceresso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 89 minutes, Ediberto Simões mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.E Galo Vermelho and the Macuripary EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in S.E Galo Vermelho fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute. Penalty! After having played for 93 minutes, Sílvio Luís Furlan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Macuripary EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Luís Furlan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Allan Porto struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Régis Ceresso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Macuripary EC. Macuripary EC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
