Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Maranhao's Natã Eger started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Fred Cardozo threw the ball into play from the sideline. Teresina FC's Aloísio Quintal quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Aloísio Quintal hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Gerardo Frances hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Tomás Barbosa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Andrézinho Amaral came out and tried to block the shot, but Tomás Barbosa slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 11th minute. After a rather tough play, Teresina FC's Gerardo Frances got a free kick in the 15th minute. Natã Eger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 17 minutes, Duda Secco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maranhao and the Teresina FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18th minute, Duda Secco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Andrézinho Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Barbosa in the 19th minute of play. If Natã Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Natã Eger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maranhao's supporters rose to their feet, but Natã Eger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oséias Paraibano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Natã Eger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Gerardo Frances got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 36 played minutes Maranhao got a freekick which was hit by Régis Mota. In the 38th minute, Teresina FC's Tomás Barbosa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 42nd minute Tomás Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrézinho Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Barbosa in the 45th minute of play forced Maranhao's goalkeeper Andrézinho Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 59th minute, Gerardo Frances ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andrézinho Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomás Barbosa in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andrézinho Amaral prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maranhao's Andrézinho Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Frances in the 63rd minute of play. Tomás Barbosa scored 4-0 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Andrézinho Amaral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomás Barbosa in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrézinho Amaral saved Maranhao from getting behind. Andrézinho Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Barbosa in the 73rd minute of the match. Andrézinho Amaral came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Teresina FC's Gerardo Frances. But to his dismay, Gerardo Frances quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. In the 80th minute, Tomás Barbosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andrézinho Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. After having played for 85 minutes, Tomás Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Teresina FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomás Barbosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Andrézinho Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Jakobe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tomás Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maranhao's Natã Eger got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Natã Eger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 97 minutes, Natã Eger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maranhao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Natã Eger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
