Fiori Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarbas Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Duarte Paraibano in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fiori Viana saved C.R. Flamengo from getting behind. Fiori Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, C.R. Flamengo's Fiori Viana got control of the ball when Jarbas Barbosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jarbas Barbosa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fiori Viana came out and tried to block the shot, but Jarbas Barbosa slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 89th minute. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Jarbas Barbosa got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 95 minutes into the match, Jarbas Barbosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fiori Viana. C.R. Flamengo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jarbas Barbosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. The C.R. Flamengo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Barcelona FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
