The referee showed Cacá da Rocha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Luziania SC booed when Jacovense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cacá da Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Jacovense's Gugu Vasconcelos got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 19th minute Cacá da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tostão Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luís Guilherme Mattos was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Tomé Alves capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomé Alves really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Luís Guilherme Mattos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristóvão de Salles in the 30th minute. Jacovense's Gugu Vasconcelos suffered a sore thigh after 35 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 35 minutes, Edu Leite mouthed his way into the referee's book. Luziania SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Norberto Sousa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
