Spectators: 5315 (Terracing: 4100, Seating: 1200, VIP seats: 15) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jorge Zonta took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 9th minute Fabrício Galvão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovani de Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Papary EC's Artur Sampaio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Papary EC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Papary EC booed when Corinthians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Galvão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Artur Sampaio made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Diogo Baptista sent off a good shot on target. With 22 minutes on the clock, Nando Sá commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Papary EC! Telmo Tinoco shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 27th match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Galvão to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Angelo Oliveira took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Artur Sampaio to make any attempt to save it. When Corinthians's Diogo Baptista in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Papary EC's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Papary EC's zone, Diogo Baptista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artur Sampaio came out of the goal and Diogo Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 45 minutes into the game, one of Corinthians:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

André Luiz Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Artur Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 71 minutes of play, Corinthians's Doni de Sena made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Artur Sampaio was left in no man's land by his defense there! 75 minutes into the match, Corinthians's André Luiz Dantas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Artur Sampaio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Artur Sampaio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Telmo Tinoco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Doni de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Beto Cordeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Papary EC's goalkeeper Artur Sampaio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 83rdth minute of the game André Luiz Dantas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Papary EC's Artur Sampaio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Beto Hoffmann fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Papary EC's protests and gave Beto Hoffmann a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Corinthians booed when Papary EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beto Hoffmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Corinthians's Doni de Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 89thth minute of the game Doni de Sena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Papary EC's Artur Sampaio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. André Luiz Dantas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Corinthians's attentive Ricardinho Linares managed to snatch the ball when Manfredo Alcântara made a throw-in in the 95th minute of the game. There was no doubt that Corinthians were the better team. Corinthians's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
