Luiz Paulo Meirelles received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Walmir Ortiz came out and tried to block the shot, but Luiz Paulo Meirelles slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 11th minute. Edmílson Vargas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorival de Barros having to interfere. A collision led to Paraty F.C. getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Luiz Paulo Meirelles hit a great ball. Viadutos FC's Edmílson Vargas got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Vitório da Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Frederico Fontes's late challenge caught a Viadutos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frederico Fontes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Viadutos FC booed when Paraty F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederico Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Viadutos FC's Walmir Ortiz got control of the ball when Luiz Paulo Meirelles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dorival de Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmílson Vargas in the 48th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mané do Valle to make the kick off. When Josué de Moraes fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paraty F.C.'s protests and gave Josué de Moraes a yellow card for diving instead. After 53 played minutes Paraty F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Josué de Moraes. After a defensive mix-up in Viadutos FC's zone, Vitório da Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmir Ortiz came out of the goal and Vitório da Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 58 minutes, Luiz Paulo Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraty F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Paulo Meirelles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mané do Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edmílson Vargas struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Dorival de Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Viadutos FC. Dorival de Barros was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Mané do Valle capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mané do Valle really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. In the 67th minute, Josué de Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Kléber Pereira from long distance, 69 minutes into the match, got Dorival de Barros's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Walmir Ortiz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Paulo Meirelles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Luz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Dorival de Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 76 minutes of play Paraty F.C.'s Josué de Moraes was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 77th minute, Josué de Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 81 minutes into the match, Paraty F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Edmílson Vargas came free, but Dorival de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mané do Valle's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Dorival de Barros skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Paraty F.C.'s Romeu Madureira took a good shot, in the 96th minute, which hit the crossbar above Walmir Ortiz's head, and flew over the goal. Viadutos FC's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Paraty F.C..
