Paulo Renato Matos kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. 3 minutes into the match, ITUMBIARA E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Zeca Botelho came free, but Nildo Urbano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nildo Urbano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Oliveira in the 4th minute of play. In the 5th minute Zeca Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nildo Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Orlando Marques came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by ITUMBIARA E.C.'s Antônio Carlos Paraense. But to his dismay, Antônio Carlos Paraense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. André Mesquita's late challenge caught a Tocantinea AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. André Mesquita helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, ITUMBIARA E.C.'s André Mesquita got a free kick in the 10th minute. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Pedro Oliveira sped through ITUMBIARA E.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nildo Urbano. The audience was convinced that Pedro Oliveira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nildo Urbano was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Antônio Carlos Paraense struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Orlando Marques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ITUMBIARA E.C.. In the 25th minute Zeca Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nildo Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 28 minutes, Antônio Carlos Paraense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ITUMBIARA E.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Antônio Carlos Paraense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nildo Urbano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zeca Botelho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nildo Urbano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 41st minute Pedro Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nildo Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. André Mesquita hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. During the 45th minute of the match Paulo Renato Matos completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Paulo Renato Matos a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game.

André Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Orlando Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orlando Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrinho Peres, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute, Zeca Botelho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nildo Urbano was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in ITUMBIARA E.C.'s zone, Pedro Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nildo Urbano came out of the goal and Pedro Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 79th minute, Ronaldo Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antônio Carlos Paraense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Marques having to interfere. In the 85th minute of the match Celso Madureira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nildo Urbano skillfully saved the ball. Zeca Botelho struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Nildo Urbano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tocantinea AD. Pedro Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nildo Urbano having to interfere.
