Mataruca's Romário Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Váldson Maciel in the 12th minute of play. 17 minutes into the game, Antônio Carlos Paraense recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Romário Torres. Antônio Carlos Paraense showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian do Vale in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nildo Urbano saved ITUMBIARA E.C. from getting behind. If Váldson Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nildo Urbano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tião das Neves in the 32nd minute of play. Tião das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Váldson Maciel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Cristian do Vale in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nildo Urbano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Eliseu Berger hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the match, ITUMBIARA E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Tião das Neves came free, but Nildo Urbano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 86 minutes, Benjamim de Souza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mataruca and the ITUMBIARA E.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 86th minute, Benjamim de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Mataruca's zone, Váldson Maciel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romário Torres came out of the goal and Váldson Maciel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 92 minutes into the match, Mataruca's goal looked a bit too open when Váldson Maciel came free, but Romário Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Antônio Carlos Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 95 played minutes Mataruca got a freekick which was hit by Benjamim de Souza.
