The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fulgencio Arano during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 14 played minutes Pasteur FC got a freekick which was hit by Fulgencio Arano. 16 minutes into the match, Benito Gaizko sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Miguel Mundo threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Benito Gaizko this time. A collision led to Pasteur FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Erubiel Quentin hit a great ball. Herminio Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Neto having to interfere. In the 22nd match minute, Chelsea FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Tallia to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Chelsea FC's zone, Benito Cordarin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Neto came out of the goal and Benito Cordarin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Lorenzo Barea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chelsea FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lorenzo Barea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miguel Mundo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Cordarin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Manuel Neto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herminio Barros in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manuel Neto saved Chelsea FC from getting behind. In the 41stth minute of the game Benito Cordarin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chelsea FC's Manuel Neto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Manuel Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benito Cordarin in the 44th minute of play. Miguel Mundo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Barea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Benito Cordarin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pasteur FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benito Cordarin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Neto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Benito Cordarin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 played minutes Pasteur FC got a freekick which was hit by Herminio Barros. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benito Cordarin in the 80th minute of play forced Chelsea FC's goalkeeper Manuel Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Pasteur FC defense, Lorenzo Barea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Miguel Mundo. The Pasteur FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Miguel Mundo should have stopped the shot. Herminio Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Neto having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Lorenzo Barea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miguel Mundo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Pasteur FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
