Danilo Dominguez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustino Gabino, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Alejo Bihar struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Roman Tibalt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maipú. If Gaudencio Pio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo Almafuerte's goalkeeper Roman Tibalt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Deportivo Almafuerte's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Pedro Deunoro 12 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Alejo Bihar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Roman Tibalt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teofilo Gaitan during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 34th match minute, Deportivo Almafuerte was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teofilo Gaitan to maneuver through the defense. Alejo Bihar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Lázaro Laffitte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Almafuerte's zone, Alejo Bihar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roman Tibalt came out of the goal and Alejo Bihar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lázaro Laffitte to make the kick off. Alejo Bihar succeeded in the game's 54th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-0. 57 minutes into the game, Lázaro Laffitte recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Danilo Dominguez. Lázaro Laffitte showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-1. Faustino Gabino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Danilo Dominguez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Faustino Gabino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Maipú! When the match had been going on for 85 minutes, Deportivo Almafuerte's Fausto Asteri got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Danilo Dominguez. Gaudencio Pio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roman Tibalt having to interfere. Bartolo Weterio charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bartolo Weterio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 91 played minutes Deportivo Almafuerte got a freekick which was hit by Bartolo Weterio. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Almafuerte's zone, Gaudencio Pio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roman Tibalt came out of the goal and Gaudencio Pio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Deportivo Almafuerte's Roman Tibalt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alejo Bihar in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute Pedro Deunoro suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Deportivo Almafuerte's Bartolo Weterio got his second yellow card of the match in the 95th minute. The referee ordered Bartolo Weterio off the ground. After 97 played minutes Deportivo Almafuerte got a freekick which was hit by Bartolo Weterio. When Gaudencio Pio came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Maipú fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaudencio Pio couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Maipú had played much better football throughout.
