The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gavino Handi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 7th minute, Gavino Handi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lino Cordarell was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Yuto AFC's Gavino Handi got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ricardo Dantae sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardo Dantae got free with Pepe Santoro in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lino Cordarell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adolfo Palos, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Alejo Iratxo hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. If Gavino Handi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gavino Handi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Lino Cordarell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardo Dantae made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Lonquimay's Marian Tăcutu got a free kick in the 51st minute. Yuto AFC's Gavino Handi got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lino Cordarell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnoldo Pere in the 54th minute. 55 minutes into the game, Guillermo Amaya was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lonquimay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Yuto AFC the free kick. The supporters of Yuto AFC booed when Lonquimay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Amaya didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lino Cordarell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cirilo James in the 57th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the game, Gavino Handi lined in a short shot 0-5 behind a frustrated Lino Cordarell. A collision led to Yuto AFC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Gavino Handi hit a great ball. If Arnoldo Pere had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 72 minutes, Gavino Handi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Yuto AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gavino Handi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnoldo Pere who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Lino Cordarell when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gavino Handis short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Lino Cordarell to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rafael Poz hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Gavino Handi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lino Cordarell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Yuto AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
