In the 6th minute, Isidro Totakoxe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes in the game Justo Tonio did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Hipolito Belasko. After 10 minutes of play, Douglas Haig's Saverio Gipuzkoa made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cayetano Reno was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lunáticos de Montevideo's Cayetano Reno proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Lunáticos de Montevideo from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saverio Gipuzkoa in the 15th minute of play forced Lunáticos de Montevideo's goalkeeper Cayetano Reno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Lunáticos de Montevideo's Isidro Totakoxe got a free kick in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Lunáticos de Montevideo's goalkeeper Cayetano Reno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Domingo Oliverio. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vicente Polentzi in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peder Wållander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cayetano Reno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saverio Gipuzkoa in the 25th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Domingo Oliverio got free with Cayetano Reno in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cayetano Reno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saverio Gipuzkoa, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute of the match Ciriaco Tartalo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Peder Wållander skillfully saved the ball. Cayetano Reno came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Douglas Haig's Domingo Oliverio. But to his dismay, Domingo Oliverio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In a very dangerous position, a player in Douglas Haig fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! The Lunáticos de Montevideo fans' excitement grew in the 48th match minute when Lunáticos de Montevideo's Vicente Polentzi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saverio Gipuzkoa to make the kick off. Toby Clist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 55thth minute of the game Vicente Polentzi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Douglas Haig's Peder Wållander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Toby Clist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Douglas Haig's Saverio Gipuzkoa in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lunáticos de Montevideo's goalie prevented a goal. Vicente Polentzi in the 61stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Peder Wållander, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saverio Gipuzkoa in the 62nd minute of play forced Lunáticos de Montevideo's goalkeeper Cayetano Reno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lunáticos de Montevideo's attentive Aldo Xacintu managed to snatch the ball when Justo Tonio made a throw-in in the 72nd minute of the game. Vicente Polentzi scored 2-3 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Peder Wållander, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Isidro Totakoxe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the match, Saverio Gipuzkoa notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Lunáticos de Montevideo's Cayetano Reno. Cayetano Reno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cayetano Reno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hipolito Belasko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Isidro Totakoxe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Americo Beti charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Americo Beti the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Douglas Haig getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Americo Beti hit a great ball. The long shot by Vicente Polentzi in the 91st minute really tested Peder Wållander's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
