Edward Giertych showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olaf Kon, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After a defensive mix-up in F.C Poznańska's zone, Stefan Cymbal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edward Giertych came out of the goal and Stefan Cymbal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. F.C Poznańska's Edward Giertych played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olaf Kon in the 11th minute of play. When Olaf Kon came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Burza Widzew fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olaf Kon couldn't finish the play. F.C Poznańska's Edward Giertych played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olaf Kon in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of Burza Widzew booed when F.C Poznańska was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zenon Pryputnicki didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Burza Widzew's Olaf Kon in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edward Giertych prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 36th minute Olaf Kon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Giertych saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tadeusz Ziemniak scored 0-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edward Giertych, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tadeusz Ziemniak struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Edward Giertych didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Burza Widzew. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olaf Kon in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olaf Kon made a kick off. In the 51st minute Cezary Turek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobiasz Pawelczyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Olaf Kon put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Edward Giertych. After 55 minutes, Juliusz Iwanowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C Poznańska and the Burza Widzew players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to F.C Poznańska getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Juliusz Iwanowski hit a great ball. With his leg Edward Giertych managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Burza Widzew's Olaf Kon fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, F.C Poznańska's Dominik Pierz got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Sylwester Wielopolski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Olaf Kon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 67 minutes into the game, F.C Poznańska's Cezary Turek nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tobiasz Pawelczyk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Burza Widzew's Tobiasz Pawelczyk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zenon Pryputnicki in the 72nd minute of play. If Zenon Pryputnicki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olaf Kon got free with Edward Giertych in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edward Giertych made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Olaf Kon sent off a good shot on target. Olaf Kon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Edward Giertych made a huge save. In the 95th minute Zenon Pryputnicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobiasz Pawelczyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
