Spectators: 7513 (Terracing: 5635, Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Achilles De Middeleer kicked off to start the match. Achilles De Middeleer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Jos Smeyers made a huge save. Achilles De Middeleer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Jos Smeyers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raymond Van Gysel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jochen Vercasteren in the 11th minute of the match. Jos Smeyers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Achilles De Middeleer in the 12th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in KV Achtendries's zone, Reinaert Mestdagh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jos Smeyers came out of the goal and Reinaert Mestdagh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raymond Van Gysel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gino Mesmaekers, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. When FVV's Achilles De Middeleer in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye KV Achtendries's goalie prevented a goal. If Achilles De Middeleer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. KV Achtendries's Jos Smeyers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Achilles De Middeleer in the 21st minute of play. Jos Smeyers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Achilles De Middeleer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute, FVV's Diedrik Van Den Eijnde dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. FVV's Diedrik Van Den Eijnde quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Geoffrey Flocquier, made in the 32nd minute of the game. After 44 played minutes FVV got a freekick which was hit by Cederik Nilis. After 46 played minutes, KV Achtendries's Willem-Alexander Roelandts shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Raymond Van Gysel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in KV Achtendries reached it. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Constantijn Van Hove made the kick off in the second half. Brent Valckeneers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Raymond Van Gysel made a huge save. Cederik Nilis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jos Smeyers having to make a save. Jos Smeyers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Achilles De Middeleer's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. The FVV fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when FVV's Achilles De Middeleer looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Achilles De Middeleer in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jos Smeyers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in KV Achtendries's zone, Cederik Nilis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jos Smeyers came out of the goal and Cederik Nilis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of FVV booed when KV Achtendries was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brent-Jan De Vorster didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Achilles De Middeleer sped through KV Achtendries's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jos Smeyers. A collision led to KV Achtendries getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Jochen Vercasteren hit a great ball. In the 80th minute Achilles De Middeleer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jos Smeyers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of KV Achtendries booed when FVV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Gonchan didn't get a good kick on the ball. KV Achtendries's Jos Smeyers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Achilles De Middeleer in the 84th minute of play. Garry Van Brussel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FVV walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
