After having played for 4 minutes, Eşref Adışanlı managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 12th minute, Orhan Seyfi Tuğbay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 13 minutes into the match, Altay's Akay Zeki sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ahmet Nedim Sadir narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Orhan Seyfi Tuğbay's late challenge caught a Altay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Orhan Seyfi Tuğbay helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Altay booed when Kangal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orhan Seyfi Tuğbay didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute, Akay Zeki reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ahmet Nedim Sadir. The goal made the score 1-1. Altay's Cláudio Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eşref Adışanlı in the 18th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Aygün Soytekin notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Altay's Cláudio Guerra. Cláudio Guerra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cláudio Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orhan Seyfi Tuğbay, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eşref Adışanlı in the 29th minute of play forced Altay's goalkeeper Cláudio Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Gencal Taşgan fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Altay's protests and gave Gencal Taşgan a yellow card for diving instead. Gencal Taşgan kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Cláudio Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eşref Adışanlı, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 31 minutes of play, Kangal's Eşref Adışanlı made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cláudio Guerra was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 37 played minutes Kangal got a freekick which was hit by Aygün Soytekin. Eşref Adışanlı scored 1-4 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cláudio Guerra, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cláudio Guerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eşref Adışanlı in the 46th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Aygün Soytekin notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Altay's Cláudio Guerra. Cláudio Guerra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Akay Zeki was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Ali Artan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kangal's Bahtiyar İlsu shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 54th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Cláudio Guerra but with some difficulty. Arın Ferhat Doğu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Cláudio Guerra made a huge save. After some careless play in the Altay defense, Aygün Soytekin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cláudio Guerra. The Altay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cláudio Guerra should have stopped the shot. Ali Artan's late challenge caught a Kangal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ali Artan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 72nd minute, Ali Artan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 74 played minutes Altay got a freekick which was hit by Ali Artan. 76 minutes into the game, İlhami Tokuztuğ cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-8. Cláudio Guerra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Altay's zone, Eşref Adışanlı stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Guerra came out of the goal and Eşref Adışanlı tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Altay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 85th minute, when Aygün Soytekin scored to the left of an out of position Cláudio Guerra, making the score, 1-10. Akay Zeki struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Ahmet Nedim Sadir didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Altay. Cláudio Guerra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aygün Soytekin in the 95th minute.
