Lê Viet made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Bican Balcan might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lê Viet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bican Balcan ran back to his position shaking his head. After 26 played minutes Tuy Hoa United got a freekick which was hit by Victorino Truylos. 1-1 became the score in the 27th minute when Lê Chi elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Huỳnh Nhật Minh scored 1-2 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nikolay Klimovtsev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Tuy Hoa United getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Maxim Zbârcea hit a great ball. Tôn Tho scored 1-3 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nikolay Klimovtsev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bican Balcan got free with Lê Viet in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half Nghe An were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victorino Truylos to make the kick off. In the 51st minute of the match Võ Tho sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nikolay Klimovtsev skillfully saved the ball. Nikolay Klimovtsev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tôn Tho in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute Victorino Truylos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Viet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tuy Hoa United's Nikolay Klimovtsev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liễu Hung in the 60th minute of play. In the 72nd minute Victorino Truylos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Viet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lê Viet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hoàng Huynh Duc in the 75th minute of play. After 76 minutes, Trần Duong mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nghe An and the Tuy Hoa United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Phạm Pham blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lê Viet having to make a save. After 78 minutes of play, Tuy Hoa United's Victorino Truylos made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lê Viet was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Nghe An's zone, Bican Balcan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lê Viet came out of the goal and Bican Balcan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute, Victorino Truylos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Chi in the 89th minute of play forced Tuy Hoa United's goalkeeper Nikolay Klimovtsev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Nghe An's Liễu Hung got a free kick in the 91st minute. Lâm Hong took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lê Viet. Nghe An's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Tuy Hoa United's goalkeeper Nikolay Klimovtsev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Huỳnh Thi. With a little luck, Tuy Hoa United's Nikolay Klimovtsev got control of the ball when Tôn Tho tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Nghe An had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
