Trần Dong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tôn Tho in the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tôn Tho in the 85th minute of play forced Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh FC's goalkeeper Trần Dong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Nguyễn Liem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. Lê Viet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh FC played a much better game than Nghe An and deserved their victory. The Nghe An players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
