Thanks to some nice moves Martin Rana could shoot a difficult shot in the 15th minute, which James Novak however easily saved by the left post. Martin Rana took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised James Novak. James Novak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 33 minutes into the match, England's goal looked a bit too open when Svend Betz came free, but James Novak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kasper Schmeichel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Rigg in the 34th minute of play. The corner led Denmark's Karsten Randholt to fire away a dangerous shot which James Novak despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Rigg in the 42nd minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Paddy Woolcock to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benny Valfos to maneuver through the defense. Denmark made a substitution. Kay Stormlund replaced Svend Betz. The supporters of England booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benny Valfos didn't get a good kick on the ball. James Novak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karsten Randholt, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when William Rigg got free with Kasper Schmeichel in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 87th match minute, England was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Barber to maneuver through the defense. James Novak came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Denmark's Martin Rana. But to his dismay, Martin Rana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Gunner Kalashnikov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Kasper Schmeichel made a huge save.
