In the 17th minute Gökdeniz Karadeniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petras Anusauskas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Canada's goal looked a bit too open when Miglius Rupšys came free, but Percy Ivey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Percy Ivey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miglius Rupšys in the 21st minute of the match. Miglius Rupšys scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Percy Ivey, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lithuania's Miglius Rupšys got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th match minute, Canada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kalonzo Kalogerakis to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Lithuania booed when Canada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rocco Chatigny didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute Miglius Rupšys shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percy Ivey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lithuania's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Algitas Dubauskas in the 41st minute. Lithuania's Algitas Dubauskas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Percy Ivey in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Miglius Rupšys made a kick off. Miglius Rupšys fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Percy Ivey having to interfere. Percy Ivey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miglius Rupšys in the 53rd minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Canada's goalkeeper Percy Ivey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miglius Rupšys. Petras Anusauskas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Krystian Żmuda in the 59th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gökdeniz Karadeniz in the 60th minute of play forced Lithuania's goalkeeper Petras Anusauskas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Lithuania's Miglius Rupšys sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Percy Ivey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Canada's goalkeeper Percy Ivey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Canada's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. With a little luck, Canada's Percy Ivey got control of the ball when Daugirdas Vitkus tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lithuania were awarded a corner in the 82th minute after Canada's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Algitas Dubauskas took the corner. Vygantas Petrošius was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The crowd rose to their feet as Daugirdas Vitkus kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Percy Ivey. That made the score 1-2 in the 86 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Krystian Żmuda in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Petras Anusauskas saved Lithuania from getting behind. Petras Anusauskas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matthieu Watkins in the 94th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Matthieu Watkins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petras Anusauskas was relentless in the 94th minute of the game.
