In the 13th minute Manotham Chaiket shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mikhail Tal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Thailand was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natee Boonsong didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mikhail Tal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manotham Chaiket in the 19th minute. Jiradet Ittiphalanukup kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kiattirat Vichittanaporn was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Thailand's zone, Baldovino Barzurqueta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeerasak Janwong came out of the goal and Baldovino Barzurqueta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Moreno in the 81st minute of play forced Thailand's goalkeeper Jeerasak Janwong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 82 minutes of play, Venezuela's Paul Moreno made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jeerasak Janwong was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Baldovino Barzurqueta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venezuela's Playo Campderros got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Playo Campderros might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeerasak Janwong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Playo Campderros ran back to his position shaking his head. 93 minutes into the match, Thailand's goal looked a bit too open when Playo Campderros came free, but Jeerasak Janwong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Thailand's goalkeeper Jeerasak Janwong had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paul Moreno. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Venezuela walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
