In the 15th minute Francesc Tamari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christophe Troxler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Loramendi Valdivia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octavius Gräf in the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Roman Scheupach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loramendi Valdivia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boban Fett in the 25th minute of play forced U21 Switzerland's goalkeeper Christophe Troxler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute of the match, Maxi Gambetta got a very nice opportunity to score, but Christophe Troxler was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 27 minutes into the match, U21 Switzerland's goalkeeper Christophe Troxler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maxi Gambetta. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Clinton Werfel to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes U21 Spain got a freekick which was hit by Paco Macho. Hirving Lozano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hirving Lozano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Boban Fett in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christophe Troxler saved U21 Switzerland from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Boban Fett's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christophe Troxler was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Maxi Gambetta took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Christophe Troxler. Christophe Troxler dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. U21 Spain made a substitution. Ospin Sánchez replaced Maxi Gambetta. U21 Spain's Xantalen Titos was substituted for Boban Fett. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xantalen Titos in the 80th minute of play forced U21 Switzerland's goalkeeper Christophe Troxler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christophe Troxler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xantalen Titos in the 85th minute of play. Luc Weingartner kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Luis Cabada went to the cornerflag to take it. U21 Spain's Luis Cabada was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Christophe Troxler in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 92 minutes into the match, U21 Switzerland's goal looked a bit too open when Ospin Sánchez came free, but Christophe Troxler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 97 minutes, Anselmo Lopez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Spain and the U21 Switzerland players grew even worse after the yellow card.
