The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. António Roma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Göksel Taşdan in the 3rd minute of play. After 4 minutes, Bulut Cannavaro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Turkey and the U21 Argentina players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bulut Cannavaro hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. U21 Argentina's António Roma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Göksel Taşdan in the 6th minute of play. The throw-in from Pastor Edorta in the 10th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by U21 Turkey's Burak Onal. António Roma came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Turkey's Göksel Taşdan. But to his dismay, Göksel Taşdan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel-Omar Santirso in the 16th minute of play forced U21 Turkey's goalkeeper Yıldıray Akaltan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute Göksel Taşdan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Roma saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 19 minutes into the game, Baba Moco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Yıldıray Akaltan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to U21 Argentina getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Pastor Edorta hit a great ball. 27 minutes into the game, U21 Turkey's Göksel Taşdan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. António Roma made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The throw-in from Pastor Edorta in the 31st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by U21 Turkey's Richard Parker. Yıldıray Akaltan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baba Moco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute U21 Argentina were awarded a corner. Fausto Santana went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on U21 Argentina's corner Gabriel-Omar Santirso fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Yıldıray Akaltan quite easily take care of the ball. Baba Moco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yıldıray Akaltan having to make a save. 47 minutes into the match, U21 Argentina's goalkeeper António Roma had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Richard Parker. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

57 minutes into the match, U21 Argentina's goal looked a bit too open when Göksel Taşdan came free, but António Roma reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Göksel Taşdan in the 59th minute of play forced U21 Argentina's goalkeeper António Roma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When U21 Turkey's Göksel Taşdan in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Turkey's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 78 minutes, Baba Moco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Argentina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baba Moco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. U21 Turkey's Uygar Orhan was substituted for Richard Parker. U21 Argentina made a substitution. Prudencio Guillerme replaced Gabriel-Omar Santirso. U21 Argentina made a substitution. Baru Sanchis replaced Baba Moco. A collision led to U21 Turkey getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Fehmi Erdemer hit a great ball. Rosendo Paez made in the 84th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Máximo Čapo. Çınar-Eymen Turgut struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. António Roma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Turkey. In the 90thth minute of the game Çınar-Eymen Turgut who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Argentina's António Roma was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, U21 Turkey's Yıldıray Akaltan got control of the ball when Prudencio Guillerme tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. U21 Argentina walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
