If Steven Tanner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Buford Lim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steven Tanner, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Steven Tanner blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Buford Lim having to make a save. Buford Lim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steven Tanner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Buford Lim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steven Tanner, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Chris Guest recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Steven Tanner in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Buford Lim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, U21 Canada's Brock Lavoie got a free kick in the 34th minute. Indiana Jones sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ray Atkins hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Steven Tanner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Indiana Jones made a kick off. Mauro Jodion made in the 52nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by U21 England's Marty Driver. Dean Henderson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mitch Redmond, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. U21 England's Julian Alcock was substituted for Alastair Goodwick. U21 England's Alexander Lampard was substituted for Chris Guest. The U21 England fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when U21 England's Steven Tanner looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. U21 Canada's Richie McIntosh was substituted for Mitch Redmond. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Ray Atkins took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Buford Lim to make any attempt to save it. Dean Henderson came out of the goal and Indiana Jones tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 95thth minute of the game Steven Tanner who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Canada's Buford Lim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. U21 Canada's Royal Pain was substituted for Brock Lavoie. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched U21 England eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
