U21 Belgium's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Netherlands the free kick. U21 Netherlands made a substitution. Jouke Krol replaced Peter Wijker. The referee gave U21 Netherlands a penalty, 24 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hette Schaap, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of U21 Belgium's Fre Decaluwe. 1-2. Fre Decaluwe came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Netherlands's Hette Schaap. But to his dismay, Hette Schaap quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. When Elbert Baalman fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Netherlands's protests and gave Elbert Baalman a yellow card for diving instead. After 34 played minutes U21 Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Elbert Baalman. Elbert Baalman kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Jouke Krol made a precise shot to the right of Fre Decaluwe. U21 Belgium's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romain Rokeloos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 77th match minute, U21 Belgium was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaetan Coryn to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Remco Weygaerts's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roland Duinhoven was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. When Hette Schaap came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the U21 Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hette Schaap couldn't finish the play. 94 minutes into the game, U21 Belgium's Remco Weygaerts nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roland Duinhoven made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-4. A collision led to U21 Belgium getting a freekick after 99 minutes play. Gaetan Coryn hit a great ball. U21 Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
