Luc Nyemanting took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Baraxil Sarrate. The U21 Netherlands fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when U21 Netherlands's Joep Ponk looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 76 minutes, Mitchel Bakker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Netherlands and the U21 Spain players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of U21 Spain booed when U21 Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mitchel Bakker didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the U21 Spain defense, Joep Ponk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Baraxil Sarrate. The U21 Spain fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Baraxil Sarrate should have stopped the shot. In the 81st minute of the match, Torcuato Herrero tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ver Loren saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 85th minute, Torcuato Herrero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Spain fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Francisco José Millán took a quick shot and it went in 3-3 without a chance for Ver Loren to make any attempt to save it. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
