When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Martino Palermo sped through U21 Panama's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sergio Henríguez. In the 19th minute Tadeo Argi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sergio Henríguez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, U21 Argentina's Tadeo Argi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sergio Henríguez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. When U21 Argentina's Martino Palermo in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Panama's goalie prevented a goal. A nice corner shot did that Ricardo Mendez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sergio Henríguez quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 37 minutes, Martino Palermo made it 1-5 with a short kick to the right side. U21 Panama's Sergio Henríguez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Martino Palermo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tadeo Argi struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Sergio Henríguez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Argentina. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Martino Palermo put it in 1-6 from a short distance just to the right of Sergio Henríguez. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-6 lead.

Martino Palermo in the 51stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sergio Henríguez, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martino Palermo in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sergio Henríguez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martino Palermo in the 56th minute of play forced U21 Panama's goalkeeper Sergio Henríguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dionisio Lizardi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Sergio Henríguez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. U21 Argentina made a substitution. Guaberto Mitxel replaced Martino Palermo. Sergio Henríguez was a little too slow when Gaston Alfonso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 1-7. After some careless play in the U21 Panama defense, Gaston Alfonso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sergio Henríguez. The U21 Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sergio Henríguez should have stopped the shot. Sergio Henríguez came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Argentina's Gaston Alfonso. But to his dismay, Gaston Alfonso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-9. Alexis Fernandez hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. 73 minutes into the match, Gaston Alfonso dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sergio Henríguez, 1-10. 77 minutes into the match, U21 Argentina's Gaston Alfonso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sergio Henríguez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, U21 Panama's Alexis Fernandez got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 80th minute, U21 Panama's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gaston Alfonso fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. U21 Argentina's Teodosio Benvide played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Fernandez in the 82nd minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, U21 Argentina's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Henríguez came free, but Teodosio Benvide reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Guaberto Mitxel came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the U21 Argentina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guaberto Mitxel couldn't finish the play. Sergio Henríguez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gaston Alfonso in the 87th minute. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Gaston Alfonso put it in 1-11 from a short distance just to the right of Sergio Henríguez. Sergio Henríguez didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 95th minute, which inside left pole to 1-12. U21 Argentina's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
