In the 13th minute of the match, Allan Fitzgerald tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Godfried Buskes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 13 minutes into the game, Allan Fitzgerald cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Godfried Buskes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Godfried Buskes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Allan Fitzgerald, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. England's Jude Redwood-Turner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Casper Kiewit in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of England booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Theo Kroon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jude Redwood-Turner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theo Kroon in the 23rd minute of play. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when England's Allan Fitzgerald in the 24th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Godfried Buskes was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Netherlands through an amazing save. The corner ended in Allan Fitzgerald almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Netherlands's Godfried Buskes did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Heuvel in the 37th minute of play forced England's goalkeeper Jude Redwood-Turner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute Hans Heuvel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jude Redwood-Turner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hans Heuvel to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 56 minutes, Theo Kroon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Theo Kroon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 58 minutes into the match, England's goal looked a bit too open when Danny de Jaeger came free, but Jude Redwood-Turner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. England made a substitution. William Sutton replaced Rory Rusk. 64 minutes in the game Sven Kramer did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Casper Kiewit. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Robbie Hommes hit a great ball. Jude Redwood-Turner came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Hans Heuvel. But to his dismay, Hans Heuvel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Netherlands's Ger Gerritzen was substituted for Casper Kiewit. The crowd rose to their feet as Hans Heuvel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jude Redwood-Turner. That made the score 1-2 in the 72 minute of play. In the 76th minute William Sutton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godfried Buskes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When England's Grzegorz Piechna in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Netherlands's goalie prevented a goal. 80 minutes into the game, one of Netherlands:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave England a penalty, 81 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Grzegorz Piechna, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Netherlands's Godfried Buskes. 2-2. If Allan Fitzgerald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godfried Buskes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Sutton in the 92nd minute of play. Godfried Buskes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Sutton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute Danny de Jaeger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jude Redwood-Turner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Godfried Buskes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Sutton, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, William Sutton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Godfried Buskes. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Godfried Buskes should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The England fans cheered their team off the field, for while Netherlands had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
