Poland's Benedykt Gierlach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mantvydas Kardašius in the 16th minute of play. Zachary Czech's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 25thth minute, Marijonas Erčius skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Poland's Zachary Czech got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mantvydas Kardašius scored 0-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benedykt Gierlach, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zachary Czech got free with Marijonas Erčius in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Anicetas Liaudanskas hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. A collision led to Lithuania getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Edmundas Bilevičius hit a great ball. Zachary Czechs short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Marijonas Erčius to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Drąsutis Narauskas's late challenge caught a Poland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Drąsutis Narauskas helped the player get up and apologised. After 46 played minutes Lithuania got a freekick which was hit by Drąsutis Narauskas. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mantvydas Kardašius to make the kick off. A collision led to Lithuania getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Anicetas Liaudanskas hit a great ball. 60 minutes into the match, Lithuania's Mantvydas Kardašius sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benedykt Gierlach narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Poland's Iwo Wolnik was substituted for Zachary Czech. 70 minutes into the game, Iwo Wolnik cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Marijonas Erčius was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marijonas Erčius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iwo Wolnik in the 74th minute of play. After 80 played minutes Poland got a freekick which was hit by Gustaw Petrasz. In the 82nd minute, Gustaw Petrasz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Poland's Benedykt Gierlach got control of the ball when Mantvydas Jakniūnas tried to sneak it across the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Mantvydas Jakniūnas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benedykt Gierlach, 1-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Lithuania had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
