In the 10th minute of the match Belarus got a corner. Lithuania's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vladimir Ramashko ran over to the corner to take the kick. Vladimir Ramashko made a great header on Belarus's corner, it was just that Lithuania's Marijonas Erčius managed to reach the ball for a save. Mantvydas Kardašius's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Radamir Evdokimov skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Oleg Arhipov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marijonas Erčius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Medvedev in the 24th minute of the match. Edmundas Bilevičius hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Mantvydas Kardašius put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Radamir Evdokimov. With his leg Radamir Evdokimov managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Lithuania's Mantvydas Kardašius fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The crowd rose to their feet as Lithuania's Mantvydas Kardašius slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Radamir Evdokimov. That made the score 2-0 after 40 minutes of play. Mantvydas Kardašius might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Radamir Evdokimov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mantvydas Kardašius ran back to his position shaking his head. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Belarus's Aleksandr Yakovenko was substituted for Ruslan Bychkov. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oleg Arhipov to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 61 minutes, Mantvydas Kardašius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lithuania's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mantvydas Kardašius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mantvydas Kardašius in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Radamir Evdokimov saved Belarus from getting behind. In the 63rdth minute of the game Mantvydas Kardašius who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Belarus's Radamir Evdokimov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Lithuania's Mantvydas Kardašius in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Belarus's goalie prevented a goal. Mantvydas Kardašius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 64 minutes into the match, Belarus's goal looked a bit too open when Mantvydas Kardašius came free, but Radamir Evdokimov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lithuania made a substitution. Skirmantas Domarkas replaced Emilis Černiauskas. Kastytis Gimbutas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Radamir Evdokimov having to make a save. Deividas Česnauskis scored 6-0 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Radamir Evdokimov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 94 minutes into the match, Lithuania's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimir Ramashko came free, but Marijonas Erčius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marijonas Erčius made an important save on a dangerous shot by Georgij Dzerzhinsky in the 95th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The Lithuania fans cheered their team off the field, for while Belarus had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
