Seating: 4027, VIP seats: 350) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Camillo Giannico took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 2nd match minute, Italy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fedele Di Cicco to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Camillo Giannico in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldemar Kuszczak saved Poland from getting behind. Poland's Waldemar Kuszczak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camillo Giannico in the 8th minute of play. In the 11th match minute, Poland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Luis to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute of the game Lucjan Puch made a throw-in which Waclaw Domaradzki played forward. After a rather tough play, Italy's Aldo Scalia got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute Camillo Giannico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldemar Kuszczak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Camillo Giannico might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Waldemar Kuszczak. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Camillo Giannico ran back to his position shaking his head. Poland's Waldemar Kuszczak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camillo Giannico in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Camillo Giannico in the 21st minute of play forced Poland's goalkeeper Waldemar Kuszczak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fethi Tanto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Szymon Weyna in the 59th minute of the match. Waldemar Kuszczak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beppe Ferraro, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After some careless play in the Poland defense, Beppe Ferraro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Waldemar Kuszczak. The Poland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Waldemar Kuszczak should have stopped the shot. Poland made a substitution. Gustaw Petrasz replaced Szymon Weyna. Italy made a substitution. Gheorghe Hagi replaced Camillo Giannico. Alvise Campana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar Kuszczak having to interfere. Fethi Tanto was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaw Petrasz in the 93rd minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Fethi Tanto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Poland's goal looked a bit too open when Gheorghe Hagi came free, but Waldemar Kuszczak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute, Zachary Czech made a precise shot to the right of Fethi Tanto. Italy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1.
Poland were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Italy for a fine match.
