Spectators: 10302 (Terracing: 7727, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Juras Stanevičius started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 5 minutes into the game, Romualdas Stankus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Kyriakos Adamou was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dinekis Ruvelas got free with Marijonas Erčius in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 16th minute Juras Stanevičius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kyriakos Adamou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kadmos Demas charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kadmos Demas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lithuania's Darijus Matolis was substituted for Valentas Gražulis. Kadmos Demas kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Egidijus Malakauskas kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Dinekis Ruvelas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marijonas Erčius having to make a save. Lithuania's Marijonas Erčius proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Lithuania from getting a goal against them. 27 minutes into the match, Lithuania's goalkeeper Marijonas Erčius had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dinekis Ruvelas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anios Tselios in the 30th minute of play forced Lithuania's goalkeeper Marijonas Erčius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cyprus:s Kyriakos Adamou showed great skill when he stopped Egidijus Malakauskas:s penalty. Priamos Alexandropoulos kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Kyriakos Adamou stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juras Stanevičius's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Kyriakos Adamou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilis Černiauskas in the 42nd minute of play. After 44 played minutes Cyprus got a freekick which was hit by Stergios Stagias. After having played for 44 minutes, Egidijus Malakauskas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lithuania's supporters crossed their fingers, but Egidijus Malakauskas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dinekis Ruvelas made a kick off. Juras Stanevičius could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Kyriakos Adamou made a huge save. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cyprus's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Egidijus Malakauskas was slow to take the kick. During this time Lithuania's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Egidijus Malakauskas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kyriakos Adamou quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Marijonas Erčius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinekis Ruvelas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rdth minute of the game Juras Stanevičius who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cyprus's Kyriakos Adamou was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juras Stanevičius in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kyriakos Adamou prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lithuania's Skirmantas Domarkas was substituted for Nerijus Dundulis. Cyprus's Aigisthos Paraskevopoulos was substituted for Dinekis Ruvelas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aigisthos Paraskevopoulos in the 71st minute of play forced Lithuania's goalkeeper Marijonas Erčius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aigisthos Paraskevopoulos took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marijonas Erčius. Marijonas Erčius dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 74th minute, Aigisthos Paraskevopoulos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cyprus fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. A well done corner resulted in Anicetas Karvelis drilling the ball in to score 2-2 behind Cyprus's goalkeeper. In the 90th minute Aigisthos Paraskevopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marijonas Erčius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aigisthos Paraskevopoulos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cyprus succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Lithuania had controlled the match.
