The crowd rose to their feet as U21 Vietnam's Ngô Quang slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Moustafa Ghodhbane. That made the score 2-0 after 19 minutes of play. If Trần Viet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 27 minutes into the match, U21 Tunisia's goalkeeper Moustafa Ghodhbane had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Loc. Trần Hoang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chems Salhia in the 29th minute of play. Moustafa Ghodhbane was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Trần Viet showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 37 minute of play. In the 40th minute, Chems Salhia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Trần Hoang was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Hamza Ouhir capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hamza Ouhir really showed his touch with that goal: 4-2. If Phan Hoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ahmed Chaldun hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. When Phan Hoa came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the U21 Vietnam fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phan Hoa couldn't finish the play. 89 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Loc cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Moustafa Ghodhbane was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. U21 Tunisia's Moustafa Ghodhbane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Loc in the 95th minute of play. There was no doubt that U21 Vietnam were the better team. U21 Vietnam's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
