Trinidad Plummer was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Faro Igareda showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Faro Igareda made a kick off. When Paskal Morcillo fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Venezuela's protests and gave Paskal Morcillo a yellow card for diving instead. Paskal Morcillo hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. 58 minutes into the match, U21 Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Thibault Timmons came free, but Gerardo Carrillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ali Sönmezs short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Gerardo Carrillo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 85th minute of the match, Hans Doherty got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gerardo Carrillo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Faro Igareda came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the U21 Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faro Igareda couldn't finish the play. Mosen Fontecavada scored 2-0 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Trinidad Plummer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
