The wind increased when Devon Richards made the kick off in the second half. Venezuela's Tadeu Utrera managed to work through Trinidad & Tobago's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. One of Trinidad & Tobago:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Venezuela:s goal. Eudoxio Tumiraos walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Venezuela's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
