Colonization was a rather boring game compared to Civilzation 4 Vanilla/Warlords/Beyond the sword. And it wasn't particulary hard either, keep on using those immigrants and get military when your liberty bells is ringing...boring. Civ4 is the best in the serie, Civ2 was very nice too. Uhm, yes? It was a couple of years ago i played it, and alot of years since i played the original. But the whole plot of the game follows history. You have to get liberty bells in your cities to become independent, and when that happens ....the old world will send troops. It's quite linear for a Sid Meier game.Uhm, yes?

yea, ok, so maybe I missed something, but every time so far they have sent at least 3 to 1 in troops, dragoons and cannon, and like 10 -1 in ships.. How did your ancestors win? ;) You have to prepare yourself, buy weapons, construct weapons, trade, become strong. Fight with everything you got. Its the whole point of the game! :) Try a easier game mode if u think its too hard. Would not you as a king in the old world send alot of troops to protect your colonization? ;) Try to make goods of the raw materials, sell them expensive to the old world, try to recruit veteran military from the old world...etc...etc.How did your ancestors win? ;)
