What's your opinion about HighSpeed Train?

Several countries had operated HighSpeed Train line, and many countries have such plans in the future.
Could you support those plans in your country?
I have experienced HighSpeed Train many times, more convenient and comfortable .

I'd be pleased as punch if I could get HSRail where I live.

Very high start-up costs (and lots 'o political games over station placements etc.) but with nearly the silliest of cheap fuel costs and with speeds comparative to airplanes...

punch? It seems as a tale.
A transport tools without considering gravity is more like punch than airplanes.
I am sure nobody believe in it.
The most expensive costs is those advertisments sent by BOEING or AIRBUS.
If you break away from those countries controlled by them,HSRail comes into reality, for example Japan,China and the latter.

The Tilt Train was disappointingly low speed for most of my journey back when I rode it. We set off around 6pm, all the way to cairns. At one point during the night it was steaming along at over 150kmh, but by the time the sun rose and those that could even get sleep in these cheap seats were waking up, that was over and we never went as fast as the train could go again. Seeing the places of Coastal Queensland was nice though. The on-board entertainment was pretty good actually, but was a bit limited and by the time we reached the cornfields near Cairns I was just bored at the fact the train was going so slow and was looking forward to getting off this rattler to start the holiday in Cairns.

Thankfully, we took the plane home and whilst there was no in-flight entertainment like there was on the train, it was more tolerable since it only took us a couple of hours, and looking down upon the world is just so cool the first time you do it.

"The most expensive costs is those advertisments sent by BOEING or AIRBUS."
True in some form, but we loves our decentralization. Trains require a form of foresight and effort only completable by determined (or manifestly wicked) governments or exceedingly wealthy (or manifestly...) corporations.

Few will spork willingly against the mighty startup funds, and fewer still the volumes of displaced political tonnage...

Still, a choice between an expensive lady detective, and a MAG-LEV Rail to NYC? You can hold the detective and pass the MAGLEV, please.
