Simulator feedback

Now that we can see it in 3D, I think you get a much better idea of the simulator. I have watched 2 games and this is what I noticed:

+ goalkeeper behaviour. GK is going for the ball after making a save. No more of watching the ball, which is right in front of his nose while waiting for the striker to come and score. Great!

- Too much immediate passing. The game looks like a pinballmachine sometimes. Also a pass in the oposite direction at the same time while tackling the ball from an oponent looks very ridiculous. I think the chance of a player passing immediately should be reduced.

No matter what happens there will be tons of bugs in the sim.

Anyone else having trouble getting the 3D to play? The only way I can watch new SIM matches is to go through the Text and watch the live view. Can't even get the live view if I try to go direct from testing page.

When the 3D loader crashes, click the green Change Settings button. Then click Save and voila, the game loads OK.

I just stopped seeing the last version.
I hate to see forwards heading the ball back instead of winning a better position.
Almost all aerial passes from defenders end in the head of forwards. This is so annoying!
If you want to avoid a forward being alone in front of goalkeeper just do smarter defenders, they will cut the passes as we see in real soccer

I watched like 10 matches today and it really sucked.

1) The Goalkeepers are like Benji Price. Come on! 19 shoots on target and no goals? Is too much.

2) There are only 2 o 3 offensive plays.
- My GK kicks the ball, it is received by my anchorman who passes to my Centerforward and end the play by shooting.
- My GK kicks the ball and again it`s received by muy anchorman who passes to an open forward, he runs like Forest Gump. When the field is about to end he puts a Aerial Pass to my CF.



I really don`t like this new version. Just don`t get it. It`s seems like we are running backwards with this.

i'm in a group with plebeians, waiting to experience the new sim. :)

i hope you guys made scoring goals harder so we could all enjoy in football results with more clean sheets and drawn matches. i love what mawi wrote about goalkeepers. it was about time.

I think that in this new sim the results are even more random than before. We get now more scoring opportunities and less goals. It seems to me that the amount and quality of scoring chanses is not that important in the new sim. You always need some stroke of luck to get the ball to the back of the net and it makes the results very random. Even the worst 'keepers are like walls and get regularly +15 saves in a game.

I agree with tomamientras, you should focus on getting the defenders to perform better instead of making every 'keeper a superstar and making even the best strikers to miss an open goal more often than hitting the target.

i can't wait for the new season to start to let you know my opinion. after all i've been playing manager simulations for more than 20 years along living, eating, drinking and dreaming football. :)

Ok this new sim is hard to watch. I seriously can't sit thru 2 minutes without going insane. Pinball-style passing, absolutely boooooooring matches, the heading is still pretty bad, great forwards are disastrous one on one still. Like it was mentioned earlier it seems like we are going backwards instead of forward. The bad thing is that the "Swedes" (no offense to anyone) are going to impliment whatever they want anyways just like they did with the new menu styling that I think still sucks. Why have to click twice to get results? Seriously? I can go one but it doesn't pertain to the crap sim. Think I'll be joining another manager game......enjoy!

suggestions(just my views)
1 reduce the pace of the game.old sim was gd enough
2 strikers shld have the tendency to move in the goal area for a shot.
3 dribble part in the old sim was gd.
4 reduce one touch passing.
5 in wing tactics winger sld have the tendency to run along the side for a cross n provide width n short pass occasionally.
6 long balls to be played by mids to strikers or wingers.def n mids use short mos fo the time to pass to each other.
7 in the new sim there is not much diff betwn long n wing n short has become useless.

8 New sim to predictable.for me the old sim was better.u need to have a little randomness.

9 in the new sim both teams player are always close to each other.all players are expert marks men.pi n exp sld decide how open a player stays for a pass.

10 stats+tactics formula just doesnt create different situations in the game.
its just the same stuff repeating again n again.

tactics +situation+player skill
--for eg if my striker has the ball n he has better speed than my opp def he sld more often try to go around him to pass or to shoot.
--if he receives the ball in the mid region, sld have more tendency to pass n move up.
--strikers with high shooting wld try to shoot frm long or short distance but the ones with low shoot wld want to go in the box to shoot.
--wing back to move into my central def position if he moves(dribble) up with the ball n if he has no player to mark sld try n come to central def aid.
etc..

I won't complain about the pinball passing, cos' it's pretty obvious now. But the thing is, even with quick one tough passing, the playing style is still very mechanical.

- None of the passing is intelligent. They're passing just to move the ball, not to open defenses.
- Most of the time, they still pass generally to where the player is, no through passes or anything.
- If you want to have quick passing, you need good movement from players. All the players still stay in their positions. They don't make diagonal runs, no runs behind defenses.
- Having wingers will seem useless in short passing (that's the only tactic I've seen). They will not try to run with the ball, cut inside etc. They just keep passing. Now they're just another midfielder.
- I don't think player have an idea of when they're under pressure. They stand still when receiving a pass sometimes, even when it becomes so easy for a defender to step up and intercept.

The old sim was nice. A lot of variation in play. The pace could go up or down. It was unpredictable. Decisions were a bit unrealistic, but exciting. I won't say that this sim is really bad, because it made some improvements that we wanted for quite some time. But everything is so mechanical now. It's pass, pass, pass, shoot or pass, pass, pass, interception.

I've noticed the sim is being updated a lot. Nice to know at least that the sim is a priority, but I think if you keep making updates rapid fire, then you might not be able to step back and look at the results of the changes, and properly assess the updates.

The new Sim is really bad, worst at the past Sim, total unreal, looks like Pinball game instead of soccer match, please, do something good and fix it, NOW !!!!!

I do agree that the number of direct passes is a bit high. However, I use short pass tactic, and I like seeing my team play like Barca. ..so I'm ok with that.

In my first game, I made three goals, one header, one "regular" and a free kick goal! I don't I've seen more that 2 direct free kick goals in all my time in MZ.

And don't confuse the sim with the 3d. The sim calculates, the 3d tries to illustrate it. The calculation seems ok, at least between even teams.

The 3d needs a bit more work...the amount of direct passes in nice to seem but a bit over the top.

So I think they made a good job. Not perfect, but good.

Barca matches many times are boring, they kill the emotion of the game, new Sim is boring in the same way. Why do we have to train players if they aren't going to use their abilities? Why do we have to think and develop new tactics if tactics are now unnecessary? just pinball passing is enough now :(

Hehe, just had a crazy instant match. I had 23 shots. 0 went in. My 10 ball striker went 0/9, including 0/2 on PENALTIES.... Ummmm, something wrong with this picture?

Oh, and I lost because my opponent went 2/8. Hehe, I'll blame it on my keeper...

Something I realise with this new sim too. Rarely now do you ever get throw-ins. Now I find that you can go 20 mins in match time of continuous play. More realism is lost now.

That's because the simulator now compacted the game into the middle of the field almost like a volleyball match. Great isn't it?
