What to train on a defender?

After you max out a defender at speed stamina and tackling, what should you train your defender at next, ball control, aerial passing, or play intelligence. I already have my defender up to 4 balls at ball control and 1 ball at play intelligence and 0 at aerial passing,

is he young or old,if he is young then the right training camp package would be a great help, play intelligence is essential but it can be a frustrating skill to train a player in, the fact he has zero in aerial passing, for me that means that you would waste too much time trying to catch up and it should be left..concentrate on , play intelligence, ball control, passing..with a coach with more balls in these skills...

i max ball control before i max tackling. he will stop through balls, prevent turnovers after solid saves (nothing worse than stealing the ball and then giving it back to the opposing striker in front of the posts!), and control erratic passes from other players.

on the other hand, intelligence will determine his movement in relation to others on the pitch, his ability to line up and scoop up through balls, and position himself for clutch saves.

in my opinion, at our division less than 7 ball control is a liability, and 8 is a solid performer. intelligence you want to be at about 6-8, but as heddo said, its better to focus on when hes a little older because players tend to train slow in it. experience helps to compensate for neglect of this skill, but decent balls in both amounts to a powerful presence on the pitch.
