I play with 3 attackers:
Attacker A - speed 7 balls, shooting 10 balls
B - speed 10, shooting 9
C - speed 9, shooting 9
Is it better if i place quicker attackers (B and C) more close to opponent's goalie due to their better speed? Even if attacker A has bit more balls in shooting.

wow, they are great strikers, it is down to personal choice and how they perform i suppose, my personal choice would be, i would have the oldest more experienced guy as the leading forward, with the other two behind him, one either side.like centre forward, with two supporting strikers..
you could keep track of who is scoring the most goals, or view your match stats to see who is shooting the most,
but i have found my most experienced forward performs better at centre forward..

Yes, i used to have the oldest as leading forward, but the problem in the last game (at least according to 3D) was that my attackers were not fast enough, so opponent's defence took the ball away most of the time. So i thought that i might put the fastest strikers more forward, and move this slower attacker back.
So i'm interested how others use their strikers in the field ;o)

there are different ways to approach that problem, they say that the long balls option in tactics will help you if you have speedy strikers, could you have used this or maybe test it..

holy crap nice strikers, If i was you I would do what heddo has said, for me a last man striker needs 10 ball shooting and not as much speed. Take Ibrahimovic for example, he aint fast but he is a decent shooter. But I dont think it really makes a difference.

Does it ever make sense to have strikers play out wide, hoping they will pass the ball to the center forward? Does wing play even work in MZ?

Wing play does, players just kick long balls down the line for the wings. Its pretty useless imo

I have used short passes more than a year, i think. I switched from long passes to short passes after wing play was made impossible in new sim back then.

wing play works!, just not as a setting. formations can be made where you can flank defensive lines with with crosses. long balls and short passing work well for this. it's all in the placement..

But you gotta have good players for wing play or even short passing, normal players or crappy players cant friggin receive the ball. Even my players have trouble doing the easiest thing.

depending on how your midfield is placed, i'd consider placing the 'slower' / experienced attacker slightly behind (sort of shadow striker) and put the other 2 way up front.
he also has some passing so if he doesn't shoot himself, he may put 1 of the other 2 in front of the keeper
