This paid feature of the game allows you to choose youth players of a specific age.
We can choose between the age of 17 or 18 and normally people do this to play in u18 competitions directly without having to wait for them to grow up.

My question is: Did someone try this feature? And if yes, do you have examples of the players that come with 17 or 18 years old? Are they already coming maxed? Are the skills trained nonsense?

Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the community!

Did someone try this feature?
I have done it 2 times by now and i have to say it wasn't great but it was not bad either.
Both times i did it in the mid of the season and got 2 great U18 players, both times the U17 players weren't that good and the U16 were normal youths...

do you have examples of the players that come with 17 or 18 years old?

I still have one but he's already 19 (will turn 20 in some days)...
Alvaro Parco

Age: 27

HP4 tackling and aerial passing LP1 shooting and keeping, training speed 4

Are they already coming maxed?

Yes, the U18 frequently have a maxed attribute... sometimes it's maxed at 9th ball and sometimes it's maxed at 6th.

Are the skills trained nonsense?

They are trained as they had their roles defined, i mean as defenders, wings, strikers etc...
I noticed also that most of them had been trained in passing and not aerial passing.

I tried it multiple times. The goal, however, was to slightly improve my U18 team and play U18 competitions. Nothing else, no more than that. Because most of the custom players turn out to be useless after that…

What I can tell you is that it's probably not worth using this feature unless you want to:

1) Support your existing U18 team with the additional custom players — since the custom players, as crap as they might to be, are still better than 16 and 17 yo players in most cases… (but the already existing players would still be the backbone of your team nonetheless)
2) Establish a pre-specified setup for your age groups — for example, if you have 23 16 yo players and you quickly want 7 from each age group without having to deal with the youth exchanges every week.

So, there are uses for this tool, but you have to evaluate what you need.

As for the players, they are random. The 18yo ones, as far as I know, come with 2 random training camps applied to them (and you can't choose that, of course). So, we're talking about two risks here: 1) awful potential; 2) good potential, but awful previous training due to the randomness aspect.

Here are some examples…

I received those when I used custom youth setup 2 seasons ago. This is how they looked like at the beginning of the season:

Osmar dos Santos turned out to be good (although I don't like the experience and the fact that he trains slow as fuck)

This one I got this season. Good enough for the U18 team, but I'm obviously not keeping him:

Wow thank you very much for the detailed explanation. Obrigado!

Here we can really see in detail what you get and how the random previous training doesn't help to get good players at the end.

I agree with you that this feature has this 2 functions but probably most of the users are not going to pay 15 tokens for this.

I think this would be much more attractive if you could choose the Training Camps where the players are sent to, instead of the training being random.

Hello, in my opinion not worth it.

I agree that it's only good if you have a good amount of that age and you want players to compliment them and cover for training camps. Most of the time you find they are underdeveloped or have been training wrong
